Davi Valadares
Executive director and supervising attorney
Davi grew up in the Ironbound translating parent-teacher conferences for his mother. Now he makes sure no parent has to.
Davi started Halsey Street Law Project after years at a legal aid office, where school cases kept arriving late, after the meeting was over and the decision made.
He supervises every case, handles complex special education disputes himself, and takes the Saturday intake calls in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

How Davi works
Davi asks parents to tell the story from the beginning, even the parts that seem beside the point. Those are often where the case is.
When he’s not at a meeting, he’s at a Saturday soccer game in Riverbank Park, usually holding someone’s jacket.

Call the front desk or send the form, and ask for Davi by name.
A first call doesn’t make us your lawyers; a written agreement does.
