What we do
A 504 plan is a promise. We make the school keep it.
Not every child needs special education. Some just need extra time, a seat near the front, breaks or a nurse who knows the plan. A 504 plan puts that in writing.
We help you ask for a 504 plan, gather what the school needs from your child’s doctor, and make sure the accommodations are specific enough to follow.
When a plan exists but nobody uses it, we write to the school, ask for a meeting and, if needed, file a complaint.
A 504 plan can cover
ADHD, anxiety and other conditions that affect school
Diabetes, asthma, allergies and other health needs
Extra time on tests, breaks and a quiet place to work
Access to the building, transport and field trips

How we handle a 504 plan
- 01
We find out what helps
From you, your child’s doctor and the teachers.
- 02
We ask for the plan
In writing, with the paperwork attached.
- 03
We make it specific
“Extra time” becomes “time and a half on tests.”
- 04
We check it’s followed
And step in when it isn’t.
504 questions from parents
What’s the difference between a 504 plan and an IEP?
An IEP adds specialized teaching and services; a 504 plan changes how school works for your child, with accommodations. Some children need one, some the other.
The school says my child is doing fine. Can they still get a 504?
Grades aren’t the only test. If a condition limits your child at school, they may qualify even with good grades.
Need a 504 plan, or one that’s ignored?
Tell us what’s happening. The first call is free, and so is everything after it if you qualify.
A first call doesn’t make us your lawyers; a written agreement does.
